Born in a splendid litter of Samoyed puppies and whelped by a champion mother, Sammy asserts his independence early on by thoroughly exploring his environment, including the garden. He then experiences the shock of being sold and exchanges the tranquillity of a village for the bustle of London streets. His new owner is captivated by his cuddly appearance and sweet smile but disregards what she is told about the downside of puppy ownership, especially in the case of Samoyeds, which have an occasional fur shed that can be quite spectacular. Finally exasperated beyond measure, Sammy's new owner returns Sammy to his breeders as 'at fault albeit not faulty'.
