Nobuhiro Watsuki (Tokio, 1970) es un mangaka japonés reconocido principalmente por ser el creador de Rurouni Kenshin, conocida en Hispanoamérica como Samurái X. Desde joven se interesó por el dibujo y el manga, influenciado por autores como Osamu Tezuka y Fujiko F. Fujio. En 1987 recibió el Premio Tezuka de Shueisha por una de sus primeras obras y posteriormente trabajó como asistente del mangaka Takeshi Obata.

En 1994 comenzó la publicación de Rurouni Kenshin, una historia ambientada en el Japón de la era Meiji que sigue al antiguo asesino Kenshin Himura. La serie se convirtió en un gran éxito internacional y fue adaptada al anime, además de inspirar películas y otros proyectos. Entre sus obras posteriores destacan Gun Blaze West, Buso Renkin y Embalming: The Another Tale of Frankenstein.
