Reseña del libro "SWAY (Verbose) (Masterpiece Editions) (en Inglés)"
The whole sway, unabridged: the long nights the short version leaves out. This is SWAY in full. Where the Concise edition is the distilled shot, the Verbose edition is the entire pour: the side roads, the repetitions, the hours the sequence spends circling love and time until they finally give something up. It is a book to move into rather than finish. Composed after the eye surgeries that took part of his sight, it follows a mind arguing with mortality and choosing, again and again, to stay soft about it. The length is not padding but weather, the long duration a reader sits inside to feel what the poems are doing. We love life. But does life love us? ... Time is divine. The real god of I. Nothing is sanded down. The invented words and unruly syntax are load-bearing, kept exactly as composed. Shaun J Apple's work spans 25 years and roughly 100 countries; he founded two of Reddit's largest communities and spent years close to people at their most precarious. SWAY is where that whole life becomes a single held note. It is the version for people who do not want the sequence to end, who would rather stay inside the argument between love and time than resolve it. For readers who want a long, immersive poetry sequence to live inside rather than skim. If you want the argument, read the Concise edition. If you want to move in, this is the one.
