A single book in which the memory of war gathers with its present and its future. As for the heroes of this book: they are children, yet they think like grown-ups. Each short story can be read on its own, but the whole collection can also be read as if it were one continuous narrative. There is no difference: events follow quickly and move smoothly between chapters, with imagination remaining the main foundation. Thus, we read about children who carry names taken from the streets they grew up in, recounting their daily lives after the end of the civil war in Beirut. They discover boxing, bicycles, bullets, and the junk room. Daily lives that reflect a unique mix of dreams, fear, and waiting for something to happen.
