Dance to Death features the journey of an aging poet's dance training-from complete novice to self-confident dancer. Guided by his international-style Latin dance instructor, he gradually mastered movement techniques through persistent practice and overcoming numerous challenges, ultimately achieving fluid footwork and motor control. This transformation liberated both his body and mind from physical and mental limitations, fostering a newfound autonomy in bodily expression. The book comprises two main sections: "Dance Training Reflections," which presents dialogues between the poet and his instructor that focus on foundational Latin dancesport skills and artistic exploration; and "Dance-Poetic Experiments," which showcase the poet's creative works inspired by psychological awareness gained through dance practice. This account of a dancer's growth offers valuable insights for adult learners and instructors alike, while serving as an imaginative literary resource for dance enthusiasts and poetry lovers. The volume also includes 30 color illustrations demonstrating essential Latin dance steps. Read more
