Based on the authors experiences with this type of psychopath over a thirty year involvement with similar criminals, the thought processes and irrational choices made by the killer is thoroughly explored and understandably explained to the reader. The book details a journey across North America and the trail of bodies left in this mans wake as he pursues his calling. It finally takes the combined efforts of several police jurisdictions to finally put an end to the slaughter but for every one of this type apprehended, there are many others who continue their swathe of destruction. Such is the nature of these individuals who have the ability to act and move on before the Law has any inkling of what has occurred. These people present the most unsolvable type of offenses known. For those who think that rehabilitation is an answer, these types of persons have shown themselves to be highly resistant to any type of significant change that would benefit the public. While it may seem cruel, the choices when convicted are life in prison or execution.
