A Song on Salt Air is for fans of gothic literature, unreliable narrators, inspired by selkie folklore. An atmospheric, coastal gothic novel about fighting against the role you've been cast and the stories that follow us, whether we'd like them to or not. 

When Embry's boss goes missing, she finds herself without a job and the victim of the town's lingering mistrust of her mother. As if that wasn't enough, an outsider claims to have answers about her mother's disappearance, something she's avoided thinking about for years. The pressure builds, and so does the darkness that has lurked beneath the surface for as long as she can remember. 

Dorian only wants to help his struggling best friend, whom he may or may not still have feelings for. So when he convinces her to consult his grandmother, the town historian, he's shocked to learn of a history involving magic and lore, with Embry's ancestry at the center. 

Embry's brother Philip just wants his sister to be okay, while also navigating a new world of teenage rebellion within a small town. To complicate matters, their alcoholic father has decided, not for the first time, to return and make amends. 

All the while, a song beckons them all to the edge of the shore, sanity and motives are questioned, old wounds reopened, and the past refuses to drown.
