First introduced as "Spirit Poems" a decade ago, this renamed version of 22 elemental poems entitled "A Space Imagined" is POWilson's introductory chapter to his reoccurring MIDDLE VIEW theme. In it, he writes about a meditative state of imagining the space we are in, leaving it open and letting life come in. Awareness of the space around us, as well as the space beyond is an ever present direction that the poems invite the reader to dwell in. And as in all of Wilson's art, this dwelling is full of honesty and hope. "a life lived simply, purely.... without pretense". For those familiar with Wilson's musical composition, "Clear as a Dream", this collection of poems is reminiscent of his talent as a songwriter and lyricist. Melodies he composed have been translated here into words that "sing in the night sky the melody the sky is singing." These stanzas all speak to Wilson's talent of putting words onto the pages that bring notes of pure joy to this space imagined. - a space imagined I held each thing to be everything, all and left broken this place not filled takes things in but cannot hold them those things, other, away that could not stay their promise like a stone falling in a gesture to a phrase loving flees to an empty room still not ready to confess; the realization of a dream is the end of a dream space is nothing some have said but when I need room I imagine it, first inside my head then larger in steps until it takes all in there is no need to hold anything in a space imagined everything imaginable, is within
