During her journey, Kelsey rekindles a friendship with her old friend Tommy, who has extensive knowledge of natural remedies and holistic medicine. Tommy has witnessed firsthand the positive impact these alternatives can have on individuals in recovery. Inspired by Tommy, she embarks on a quest to meet people who have benefited from these alternative therapies, listening to their stories to better understand her own beliefs. This path eventually leads her to the director of a rehabilitation center, Sand Point. A softer, more compassionate approach to treatment intrigues Kelsey as she contemplates opening her own private practice. However, everything takes a dramatic turn when an old acquaintance ends up on her doorstep, bruised and battered and seeking help. This unexpected encounter forces Kelsey to confront difficult choices that may alter her future decisions and redefine her understanding of recovery.
