Frank and Jeff Douglas lost their parents twelve years ago, their car found abandoned with a dead battery. Frank believes aliens are to blame for abducting their parents, and has become an amateur ufologist. Jeff has become a mathematician who humors his older brother by going with him to alleged alien sites. One day they meet a woman with unusually blue eyes and an interest in UFOs. She turns up at two sites that the brothers visit, and Frank is suspicious. But when she inadvertently utilizes some obviously unearthly technology in their presence, she tells them an incredible story. She is herself an alien, and she offers to explain the alien influences on the planet over thousands of years, in exchange for their help. She tells them that aliens will indeed return to Earth on December 21, 2012, to settle up accounts. But there are other players on the field, and she doesn't know who they are or what they want. Killing those like her seems to be part of their agenda. Soon they are off on a tour of some of the most famous and mysterious sites in UFO lore. She is generally true to her word and has explanations, though not always satisfying ones. Will she survive until doomsday? And if she does, can she save Frank and Jeff?
