Reseña del libro "Almost Twelve (en Inglés)"

Eleven-year-old Winnie Vélez is almost twelve—and she is pretty sure twelve is when everything is supposed to start making sense. Middle school, unfortunately, has other plans. Winnie is trying to learn the violin, survive music theory, keep up with trends she somehow always hears about last, and figure out what happens when her best friend Maya chooses Dance while Winnie chooses Music. For the first time, the girls who have done everything together since first grade begin building separate lives. New classes bring new friends. A birthday performance goes spectacularly wrong. Feelings get hurt. And Winnie starts wondering whether growing up means holding on tighter—or learning that friendship can change without disappearing. Along the way, Winnie discovers that wanting to be good at something is very different from being willing to practice, fail, and try again. Funny, warm, and full of doodles, notebook pages, comics, and Winnie’s unforgettable observations, Almost Twelve is a story about friendship, growing up, finding your thing, and realizing that maybe twelve is not magic after all. Because sometimes growing up is just learning to say: Again.
