Rivka Galchen es una escritora y periodista canadiense-estadounidense nacida en Toronto en 1976. Es autora de la novela Perturbaciones atmosféricas (2008), la cual recibió el William Saroyan International Prize for Fiction. Su colección de cuentos American Innovations (2014) fue galardonada con el Danuta Gleed Literary Award y su novela Todo el mundo sabe que tu madre es una bruja (2021) fue finalista del Atwood Gibson Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize. Su obra abarca géneros como la ficción literaria, el ensayo y la narrativa breve.

Galchen es colaboradora habitual de revistas como The New Yorker, Harper’s y The New York Times. Estudió medicina en Mount Sinai School of Medicine y obtuvo un MFA en escritura creativa en la Universidad de Columbia, donde también imparte clases. En 2010, fue incluida en la lista “20 Under 40” de The New Yorker, que destaca a los escritores más prometedores menores de 40 años.
