The routine existence of the Reverend Owen Richards is shattered in the middle of the night by the sound of wind chimes. Looking out his bedroom window, he sees a mysterious white-haired stranger sitting in his backyard. Later, during a personal prayer time in the empty sanctuary of the church, Owen had the feeling that he was being watched. Slowly turning his head, he saw the well-dressed, white-haired man sitting in a vacant pew at the back of the sanctuary. When Owen stood to his feet and approached the stranger, he claimed to be a messenger, a guardian, and a servant of the Almighty, with an important message for Owen. Following this unexpected rendezvous, Owen discovered that his attitude and life were radically altered. Though initially fearful of the words spoken to him by the white-haired man, Owen eventually embraced the words, which strengthened his faith and prepared him to deal with impending and painful disasters. This novel encourages the reader to ponder the nature of the presence and protection God offers His followers and to consider what message God might be giving to other souls encountering troubled times.
