But Talmadge is horrified of children and uses his uncanny ability to summon an all-knowing dragon named Elirteal "Ely" Derkein to frighten Archie and his sister Harriet away. Talmadge eventually warms up to the children, and together they learn about Whooshers and Whomples, the importance of dreams, and lots of other bits of everyday wisdom.
