Arontitus and Shimoen lived rebelliously without paying the consequences. That is, until their misdeeds finally caught up with them. As they hung there slowly dying, one of the criminals rebuked Jesus while the other one exhibited faith and true repentance. Loved ones watched from a distance as their men paid the penalty for their sinful lives. It isn't until years later that these family members discovered the truth behind which man joined Jesus in Paradise and which one perished due to the bitterness that he harbored, to the very end, in his heart.
