This is Tara Lynne Groth's second collection of poetry. Inspired by the author's ever-present wanderlust, this book is based on the allure of the open road. The theme of escape is weaved into verse about road trips, the beginning and ending of relationships and secrets. A promise of fortune has been associated with western America, and its wilderness has been a respite for centuries. But traveling is only one means of escape. Relationships are also a way of escaping--some people you want to get lost in, and others you wish would just get lost. Apart from discovering new places and people, there's an entrapment and escape in keeping and telling secrets. This book travels from Montauk Point on Long Island to the shadows of the sequoia in California, exploring freedom and truth at rest stops along the way.
