Tohnyonah endured being molested as a child, which led her to be adopted by a white family where further child abuse continued. However, despite the struggles, Tohnyonah believes God has a plan for her life and reveals how this plan has unfolded in her new autobiography, Bending But Not Breaking. At the age of fifteen, Tohnyonah found herself a single, teenage mother to her little girl, but remained determined to succeed.
