When are you finally big enough to do things all by yourself?

As children grow, so does their desire for independence. They want to make their own choices, try new things, take on new responsibilities, and prove that they are no longer little. Hearing "You’re not big enough yet" can feel frustrating-especially when a child feels completely ready to take the next step.

Big Enough is a thoughtful children’s story that explores the exciting and sometimes challenging journey toward independence. It helps young readers understand that growing up is not something that happens all at once. Being old enough or big enough to do one thing does not necessarily mean being ready for everything, and accepting help or guidance does not make a child less capable.

It encourages adults to acknowledge a child’s growing abilities while helping children understand that independence is gradually earned through learning, practice, good judgment, and responsibility.

Growing up does not mean never needing anyone. Sometimes being "big enough" means trying something on your own. Sometimes it means listening to someone who knows more. And sometimes it means being confident enough to say, "I need help."
