Big Sister's Daffodils (en Inglés) - Brenda S. Parris

My big sister loved growing things, especially daffodils, and she grew seventy varieties of daffodils. She was twenty years older than me and had married and moved to the next house just up the hill beyond our garden and orchid before I was born. I spent more time up there than I did at home, and knowing where the snacks were kept, I helped myself. I was still very small when they added onto their house and bricked it. I was ten years old when their first daughter was born and thirteen when their second one was. It was fun having both a grown up sister and two nieces who were like little sisters to me. My sister had worked at a business forms company before the girls were born, but then when they went to school, she went with them, becoming a teacher's aide. She worked as a PE teacher's aide for twenty years at Cleburne County Elementary School. After she and her husband retired, they got bad news-- she had Parkinson's Disease, but she still did things, even planting daffodils, with his help.
