Not only does it bring joy but it invigorates the soul." About the AuthorBarbara A. Akombo is currently pursuing a Master of Arts Education in Teaching and Learning at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. She holds an International Postgraduate Certificate in Education (IPGCE) from the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Music (B.Mus) degree from Kenyatta University in Kenya. She has studied and completed advanced international correspondence courses with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) in London, United Kingdom where she has achieved graded music competencies and certificates in piano, singing, and music theory.Ms. Akombo is an expert in musical composition, music teaching, and music performance. She has substantial experience as a music teacher with several prestigious international schools in Kenya, including St. Andrew's Turi and Pembroke House School. Ms. Akombo is a member of the Classical Music Festival, a United-States-based organization with concert series housed in Vienna, Austria. Ms. Akombo has also performed with The Nairobi Music Society in Kenya, and she has given presentations at international conferences such as the Australian & New Zealand Association for Research in Music Education (ANZARME) and the 1st Performing Arts Conference in Kenya.
