Do you know the story of the rich man and the beggar? The rich man live what he thought was a good life consumed with sumptuousness and wealth. The beggar's life was consumed with trying to survive each day. The beggar suffered greatly with no relief or help from others. When the rich man died he suffered in agony and in want of a sip of water. The beggar died and went to Paradise where he wanted for nothing. Burning Awakenings is a combination of two literary forms: a Play: "The Place of Double Hockey Sticks" and a Poem, "Burning." The Play awakens you to the things that you should avoid so that you do not suffer like the rich man in death. The Poem, is a double check just in case you missed the 'let's get serious about life' approach in the Play.
