Reseña del libro "Cantar de Mio Cid"

This chanson de geste is considered Spanish literature's first narrative work written in romance language. This song of heroic deeds tells the epic exploits of a Castilian gentleman named Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar. Having lost his honor after being accused of theft, the Cid will spend the final years of his life fighting to regain his honor by conquering the Moor kingdoms to the south of the peninsula. An exceptional style and vibrant episodes such as the conquest of Valencia or the betrayal of the infantrymen of Carrion make this a literary masterpiece. Included are a comprehensive study of the work and its time, in addition to explanatory notes to help the reader follow and understand the meaning of the work.
