There she gets in touch with Alan, who like her father Gerry, was also one of the co-founders of the Yesenno, a musical group from the 60's. While journeying with Alan, Julia learns more about her parents' enigmatic past. He introduces her to the pop music world. Also she encounters her half brother. Alan becomes a turning point in her life. During their journey together in a camper, they become close, leading to a deep emotional relationship.Music plays a central role in the novel.
