To Brian, hockey is the best thing in the world. He loves to watch it on TV, but he loves to play it even more. Even though Brian's mom encourages him to do his best in this rough sport, she is too stressed out and unhappy from her divorce to come to his practices or even his games. If only Brian's father would support him and be sitting in the stands to cheer him on! But his dad lives too far away, and he hasn't visited Brian since he was three years old. All Brian wants right now is to be on the all-star hockey team and take part in the Master Puck tournament. One day at school, Brian finds out that the competition has started without him, and he makes a desperate move to earn a place on the team. When it backfires, Brian is sure everyone on the whole team hates him-including the star player. Dejected and lonely, Brian doesn't know what to do. Then he gets a surprise phone call that just might change everything. But will Brian have the courage to face his fears and make things right?
