This beautifully illustrated storybook educates children in olive varietals and their origin by following the story of Coratina, a lovely green olive from Italy. Coratina embarks on a journey around the world to find her family and learn her purpose in life. Along the way, she meets other olive varietals who enrich her journey of discovery: the Arbequina family of Spain, the beautiful and elegant French Picholine, the strong Greek grandfather Koroneiki, and the surfer, Manzanillo, from California. All these characters are real olive varietals and introduce children to the world of olives, and to aromas and flavors of olive oils. This book stimulates children's interest and improves their senses capability while having fun. It also exposes them to different languages as each character or olive varietal uses a few words in their native language. Coratina entertains and educates children.
