Reseña del libro "Creative Short Stories (en Inglés)"
A nurse who has seen it all. A storyteller who remembers everything. In Creative Short Stories, Ronald A. Greene draws on eight decades of living - forty of them in nursing - to deliver twenty short stories that move between memoir and fiction with the ease of a man who has told these tales across a kitchen table for years. Here is the Black male nurse who out-dresses the doctors and wins over the one physician who did not want him on the floor. Here is a quiet aunt who arrives with one small suitcase and a secret she has carried for a lifetime. Here is a first trip to Ghana, a townhouse hunt in a neighborhood that is too perfect, a first television in the corner of a 1950s living room, and a commuter train brought to a standstill by two escaped pet snakes. There are love stories that begin over coffee, a disco that offered refuge while the world outside burned, three childhood friends tested by a kidnapping, and an eighteen-year-old pushed out of boyhood and into a war. Some of these stories are true. Some are invented. All of them are told in Greene's unmistakable voice - direct, funny, observant, and tender - by a writer who has spent his life paying attention to people at their most vulnerable and their most alive.Written to be read in a single sitting or savored one story at a time, Creative Short Stories is a celebration of ordinary life, hard-won dignity, and the moments that stay with us for forty years and more.
