Kenzaburo Oe (Ōse, Shikoku, 1935 - 2023) fue un influyente escritor japonés, Premio Nobel de Literatura en 1994. Se trasladó a Tokio en 1954 para estudiar Literatura Francesa en la Universidad de Tokio, donde fue influenciado por Sartre y la filosofía existencialista. Su vasta obra, marcada por la angustia existencial, la identidad japonesa post-Hiroshima y la experiencia con la discapacidad de su hijo Hikari, fusiona el realismo grotesco con un profundo humanismo. Ōe fue un crítico feroz del militarismo japonés y un defensor de los valores pacifistas. Su literatura, a menudo oscura pero siempre esperanzadora, explora la fragilidad humana y la resistencia ante lo absurdo.
