1803, London. However, Elena's uncle, Mr. Martinelli - a barometer maker, at 82 Liver Lane, never seems to warm to Jack's character. And a hoarder with peculiar habits named John (Jack's neighbour) is ever a burden on the wretched inhabitants of Laney House.
