Deja Freeman has always been told she could never be a weaver. But magic runs in her blood. When she enrolls at the prestigious Tanglewood Preparatory School, she finds herself walking the same hallowed halls that claimed her mother.

Popular and driven, Tóbi Ẹkúndayọ̀ has her sight set on becoming Junior Class President. Even if it means confronting the institutional prejudice that seeks to exclude girls like her.

When Deja and Tóbi experience strange dreams that appear to be entwined, they uncover a string of deaths, beginning with the mysterious disappearance of Tanglewood's first Black female student. Joined by a motley crew of friends, the girls must untangle the school's dark history before the administration, or something far more sinister, catches up with them.
