John is an eight-year-old American boy who yells "Hello" into an unfamiliar and unknown land. An echoing voice answers his call with "Hola, hola, hola." The voice gets closer and closer until another boy arrives-a boy named Juan, "un amigo nuevo." Although the boys speak different languages, they soon learn of their similarities.
