Those who brought about its initiation and try to simplify the complexity of the resulting interdependencies by looking for addressees and attributions through cognition and affectation are unaware of the extent of its determining power. A sociology of the elementary forms of social life aims to verify the origins, forms of expression and functions of sociality in their respective context-specific form. Elementary forms of social life arise as "Wechselwirkungen", or reciprocity (Georg Simmel), as configurations of obligations and commitments and are based on the human language and on the tendency to commit and self-commit embedded in human communication. German description: Vorstellungen, Akteure und Konstellationen bilden das begriffliche Zentrum einer Soziologie elementarer Formen sozialen Lebens. Menschliches Handeln ist Zumutung und Entlastung, es ist ideengesteuert, durch individuelle Dispositionen motiviert und durch Konstellationen in seinem Ablauf bestimmt. Das Ausmass seiner Determinationskraft entzieht sich dem subjektiven Verstehen derjenigen, die es initiiert haben und die Komplexitat der entstandenen Wechselwirkungen durch Adressensuche und Zurechnungen kognitiv und affektiv zu vereinfachen suchen. Eine Soziologie elementarer Formen sozialen Lebens sieht vor, Entstehung, Ausdrucksgestalt und Wirkungsweise von Sozialitat in je kontextspezifischer Auspragung nachzuweisen.
