Captured as a young college coed on vacation while in Honolulu, Emi Sands is held captive for eight years, drugged and abused. Using her daughter born in captivity as leverage to control Emi, her captor takes Emi for an outing on his yacht, knocks her off the boat and leaves her to drown. Afraid her daughter will fall victim to her captor's abuse, Emi fights to stay afloat in a churning sea, desperate to get back to her daughter and rescue her from the monster. 

Former Marine Force Recon, George Ingram, gladly accepts a position with the Brotherhood Protectors in Hawaii. It's Hawaii, after all. Who wouldn't? Having already participated in a couple of protector efforts, he's between assignments, and taking advantage of his location to get in some fishing on a rented boat. When finds a woman floating in his path, barely keeping her head above water, he pulls her aboard and rushes to shore for medical help. She refuses to go to the hospital, insisting she remain dead. Confused by her request, George takes her to his cottage and nurses her back to health.

Once he learns her story, George insists he can help her rescue her daughter and bring her captor to justice. Having been abused for years, Emi doesn't trust easily but has no choice if she has any chance of saving her daughter.
