Welcome, dear reader. And no, I don't say that facetiously. You are dear because, if you're drawn to romance that focuses more (not exclusively, wink and nudge) on the psychological and emotional components of love, then you and I are of similar minds; at least in that respect. I have made a simple love story, but with complex characters. It is the chronicle of a relationship between two very lonely and unhappy people. It is a 'what if?' scenario; as in, what would happen if an obsessive, unhealthy love could be reciprocated? In the off, off chance that two such people would meet, and not be instantly repelled by each other for all the reasons they should be. There are some light moments. If I must messily define it, I'd call it a cross between dark comedy and dark romance, with greater emphasis on the latter half. And while they may not be to everyone's liking, I do care about my characters; and I try to imbue them with enough depth and life to offset their flaws. In no way am I trivializing mental health issues. My aim was always realism, but with a fanciful twist for entertainment purposes.
