Before leaving for Viet Nam, Bobby asks his best friend Kevin, who has just returned from the war, to look after Amy while he's gone.Kevin and Amy are soon seen around town, cruising the drag, at the movies, eating cheeseburgers at the Hi-Way Café, looking all too cozy to her best friend Sandra. Rumors spread that Kevin is moving in on Bobby's girl while he's in Viet Nam, coming to a head when a fight breaks out at Sandra's New Year's party. Her relationship with Kevin strained, and with Bobby nine thousand miles away, Amy faces the most difficult decision of her life.
