Reseña del libro "For Whom (en Inglés)"

For Whom is an illustrated spoken-word poem about the suffering we learn not to see: the kind that answers emails, makes the meeting, carries everyone else, and gets praised for being strong. Written for Suicide Prevention Month, For Whom turns the familiar instruction to "check on your strong friends" into a harder question: What happens when they tell us the truth? Through lyrical poetry and haunting watercolor imagery, Megan Brittany-Fruia Zara examines ambition, overfunctioning, mental health, productivity, care, and the quiet ways a person can become valued for how much they are able to endure. It asks what happens when reliability becomes armor, when pain is mistaken for work ethic, and when the qualities others admire most are also costing someone dearly. Part testimony, part reckoning, and part mirror, For Whom is for the strong friends, the quiet strugglers, the brilliant overfunctioners, and anyone who has ever been praised for surviving what no one should have asked them to carry. It is also for the people who love them. For the parents who see "fine." The teachers who praise quiet strength. The leaders who love the output. The friends who say, "I hear you." For Whom asks us to believe pain before it becomes proof, and to love the person, not only the version of them who can keep bleeding without making a mess.
