Rescued by Sir Aldric, a paladin of the Dawnwatch, the boys are taken to Dawnfall Keep, where they begin a new life under the protection of the Order.

As they grieve and adapt, Nathan and James are shaped by loss, training, and the bonds of brotherhood. Nathan finds solace and strength in faith and healing, while James channels his pain into swordsmanship and discipline. Their secret nightly lessons-teaching each other what they learn-forge a deep, unbreakable bond.

The kingdom faces a rising threat: necromancy and the undead, linked to ancient bloodlines and a mysterious prophecy. The twins' ancestry makes them targets, and the king and the Order must act with secrecy to avoid panic.
