From School Life to Real Life is an entertaining and thought provoking book that will appeal to parents who have students in secondary school, the teachers who work with these teenagers day in and day out over the course of ten months each year and the adolescents themselves who are dealing with the daily school and personal speed bumps of high energy, good times, anxiety and boredom. Each chapter in this book is told from the perspective of Bob Gordon, a school counselor who is a trustworthy and experienced professional and who has dealt with the whole gamut of critical issues that parents, teachers and teenagers in stress confront. In addition, Bob's Counseling Journal is a section at the end of each chapter that provides a platform for Bob to discuss the issues from that particular chapter and then to outline his common sense and balanced thoughts and solutions for that topic. Bob's practical suggestions on the dynamics of real academic learning, as opposed to the diversionary entertainment that passes as education in many schools these days, are both thought provoking and realistic.
