Rick Foster was a former prepper with all the end of days amenities one can imagine, including a fully equipped and functioning life support bunker. But that was then, before the horrific accident that took his family away from him. Now, Rick cares not of anything but his excessive drive to finding an alternate fuel source. Days upon nights are spent in his garage working on his hydrogen project. He often sleeps on his workbench and only enters his house for the necessities he requires. In another life, Rick recalls the awful secret left buried in the layers of dirt in the fields of Kansas. And soon he knows it will come. Just like it came for the dinosaurs, the ice caps, and the eventual forming of the Great Lakes. Rick is a former research scientist, and as it turns out a very skilled auto mechanic who believes his role in the upcoming disaster will be mobility over an underground bunker. His 1968 Mustang muscle car and a family in a south central Florida marsh renews his love of life. That is, until those lives cross paths with a drug smuggling cartel bent on taking everything, including their lives.
