Giacomo Moretti is an eleven-year-old boy who, along with his best friend Stella Etoile, loves anything to do with bugs and as such wants to submit their ant farm project into the Year 6 Science Fair at school. All with the intention of winning the coveted 'Best in Fair' ribbon. The success of the project is halted when, during a game of hide and seek at Stella's 11th birthday party, she goes missing and Giacomo is left distraught. Believed to be the culprit, he returns to the Etoile's garden and stumbles upon an odd tear in reality inside the greenhouse leading him on an adventure in a mysterious valley flanked by two long mountain ranges adorned with strange real-world structures lining their peaks. What is this strange place and what could be lurking beyond the grasslands and forests he has found himself in?
