The book ""Global Sustainability Education: Innovations in Digital & International Teaching" arises from the acknowledgment of the fact that efforts to promote global sustainability education may be support by innovations in the areas of digital teaching. Also, it defends the view that an international context may greatly assist in motivating students to learn in contexts other than those in their countries. This book emerges from the urgent need to move beyond isolated teaching of subjects and towards more holitistic approaches in respect of systemic, institution-wide change. The book brings together evidence-based case studies, theoretical frameworks, and practical toolkits from diverse global contexts—ranging from grassroots student-led movements to system-level policy reforms, in a variety of countries. The contributors argue that "true change” can be achieved by reimagining curricula to foster sustainability competencies, leveraging their human resources competencies, and partnering with local communities for co-created solutions.Moreover, the book critically examines barriers such as hierarchical governance, resistance to pedagogical innovation, and the tension between academic neutrality and advocacy. Ultimately, it offers a roadmap for university leaders, faculty, students, and policymakers to harness higher education’s unique moral authority and intellectual capital—not merely to adapt to a changing world but to actively co-create a just, resilient, and thriving future for all.
