The strain is believed to have evolved in the United States, then it circulated in hospitals of Switzerland and South Korea. Subsequently, the strain continued its way towards Canada, Australia, France, Britain and other parts of Europe. The scientists believe the outbreaks of FQR2 in British hospitals can be traced to three separate transmissions from North America to hospitals in Exeter, Ayreshire and Birmingham. Another transmission, in Maidstone, came from Europe. Scientificc researchers have named the bug as Clostridium difficile. In the field of medical science and research, the Clostridium difficile is a bacterium which infects the gut directly. Medical experts have warned the global populations that there are two closely-related strains of Clostridium difficile which have become antibiotic resistant and were able to rapidly spread to hospitals around the world...
