For Nick Gunn, starting a new business venture with his partner Cindy Chen was supposed to be a piece of cake-fresh off the success of solving their first investigation they soon find themselves embroiled in a mystery that leads Nick back to his old stomping grounds of his previous line of work as a detective with the Major Crimes Division.

When a mysterious woman comes into the office seeking Nick's help to find what happened to her husband, things quickly spiral down a treacherous road that test Nick and Cindy's mettle and shows them all too well how all is not always as it seems, even with those who are closest to us.
