A radio signal from space means intelligent life. It also means we are not alone. The Planetary Survey and Acquisitions Division receive a radio signal originating from a nearby star system. Earth's natural resources have been depleted and space exploration is now the norm. Grant and Sam are sent to locate the source of the transmission, survey the surrounding planets for viable resources, and search for intelligent life on what is suppose to be an uninhabited planet. A static haze shields the planet from being scanned by their ships artificial intelligence. A flash, a bang, and a crash landing on the planet's surface lead to some clever ingenuity, amazing discoveries, and what may be the start of an interstellar war. Grant and Sam join forces with the locals to battle the hostile aliens mining the planet for its resources.
