After a devastating injury, I discovered that broken bones heal relatively easily. It is the soul and the mind that heal slowly. What happens when you lose your sense of self: where you belong, who you are, and what you are supposed to be? This was me several years ago. Lost and afraid, I was angry, hurt, and lashing out at everyone and anyone. I had to learn to live again with body limitations, mental limitations, and changed expectations of life. How do you begin again in the middle of your life? Where do you start when you are afraid and in pain, both physically and mentally? This is my path of discovery and truth, often finding more ugliness than I expected and more glory than I had ever hoped for. Life is never what we plan, but it is best to accept and learn to live with what we have.
