Anton Jäger es un historiador, investigador y escritor belga nacido en 1994. Se especializa en la historia de las ideas políticas y en el estudio del populismo, la democracia y la relación entre capitalismo y sociedad. Estudió política y filosofía en la Universidad de Essex y posteriormente realizó estudios de historia intelectual en la Universidad de Cambridge, donde obtuvo su doctorado en 2020.
A lo largo de su carrera, Jäger ha investigado especialmente el desarrollo del populismo y la crisis de la democracia contemporánea. También ha estudiado la historia de la renta básica junto con otros investigadores. Sus trabajos y artículos han aparecido en publicaciones como The Guardian, Jacobin, New Left Review y De Groene Amsterdammer.
Entre sus obras se encuentra A Short Anti-History of Populism, publicada originalmente en 2018, y Hyperpolitics: Extreme Politicization Without Political Consequences, obra en la que desarrolla el concepto de «hiperpolítica» para explicar la creciente intensidad de los debates políticos actuales.
