"I Can, Too" is primarily a story of encouragement for those with challenges in their life, although younger children might also find encouragement and enjoyment in reading it. Young or old, male or female, challenged or not, we all need encouragement at one time or another. In the Biblical story of David and Goliath, David was told he was too small and too young to fight the giant Goliath. However, with his faith in God, a boys slingshot, and a few stones, David defeated the giant. "David said to Saul, "Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him." Saul replied, "You are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him; you are only a young man, and he has been a warrior from his youth." [But]David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine" 1 Samuel 17:32-33, 50. We all have Goliath's in our lives that seem impossible to overcome, however, when we do overcome them we, too, can stand up and say "I Can, Too!"
