Twenty-five-year-old Taya Robinson isn't very good at speaking up for herself. Saying no is really hard! That's part of the reason she avoids most people and surrounds herself with animals. Her house is full of rescues, strays, and tragic looking acquisitions from pet stores. All of them love and adore her despite her stutter. Pets are way better than people that way.

Taya has built a life that is predictable and steady, exactly the way she likes it, until the day her twin sister Kayla decides to recreate The Dating Game, an old show from the seventies. Kayla begs Taya to be the female contestant; there just isn't time to find someone else.

This is Taya's worst nightmare come true.

But how can she say no to her sister?

As the process unfolds in a plethora of uncomfortable ways, Taya tries hard to be the person she thinks Kayla wants her to be, at the cost of being the person she really is. With the help of her new friend, Owen, Taya finds the courage to really talk with her sister.

As much as she wants to be there for Kayla, it's time to be there for herself, too.
