$ 29.50The book "I PRESENT ZADRIMA" is organized into three main parts and reflects the distinctive traditions of the people of Zadrima, a region widely mentioned in Albania both for its economic values and for the remarkable traditions it preserves.
In the first part, titled "THE CONCEPT OF ZADRIMA," several distinctive features that characterize the population of this region, in contrast with other regions, are presented. These include dialectal linguistic traits, unique rites, traditional clothing, geographical distribution, and more. The section is illustrated with concrete examples, featuring various photographs taken during different historical periods, facsimiles taken from books and studies by different researchers across time, as well as panoramic views of parts of this region.
The second part, titled "THE ZADRIMA WEDDING," deals extensively with the tradition of organizing weddings in Zadrima and the evolution of this tradition. This section is divided into several very interesting chapters for the reader, as it presents special and highly unique rites that, in my belief, are not practiced in other Albanian regions nor by other peoples. It also presents and illustrates with photographs another rare custom found only in Zadrima: the tradition of pasore, women who go to offer congratulations on the birth of a child. Many sections are accompanied by illustrations with various photographs that show these rare rites and customs.
In the third part, titled "TRADITIONAL COSTUMES OF ZADRIMA," the traditional costumes are presented and illustrated with photographs, including those worn by Zadrima brides, women of different ages, and men. The elements of these costumes are also described, especially those of the Zadrima bride and women, as well as the methods and tools used in preparing traditional costumes. Special attention is given to Zadrima's traditional attire, particularly to the bridal costume, which stands out for its remarkable expressiveness and elegance. All of these aspects are illustrated with numerous photographs taken from different periods.
In conclusion, I can say that this book would be of particular interest to readers around the world, as it presents very distinctive and fascinating facts and rites that deserve not only to be known but also to be studied by various scholars-not only Albanian researchers, but also international ones. For this reason, the book is presented to readers in English, with the aim of offering broader recognition of the Albanian region of Zadrima.
