This is a book for young girls between the ages of 7-10 What inspired me to write this story?Evie has always been very emotional, and when she was about 7, 7 and a half, her emotions became more apparent and she would become tearful very quickly and easily, over things that made her sad, and things that made her happy. I turned to google and learnt that girls can have a hormonal rush from the age of 7/8, and this hormonal rush could potentially be worse than the hormones we all know about in teenage years. From Evie being young, I have always taught her to breathe, and stay calm and comforted her throughout her moments of distress, and it has worked for her, and she tells her sister and peers to breathe when they're in distress.Isla was born only 17 months after Evie, chalk and cheese, not emotional at all, but Isla, who is now 7, I can see her hormonal rush has come through in different ways.As a child, we didn't have the knowledge we have today, and I remember certain feelings in myself that I can now see in my girls, and only wish I was taught that these feelings were 'normal', and how to deal with these feelings.I hope this book helps young girls navigate through their emotions.
