The piece may be performed either in English and Wendat or in French and Wendat, and definitions and contextual information for the Wendat terms are provided, alongside an IPA guide by Elizabeth Brodovitch. A fascinating foreword by ethnomusicologist Dr Jeanette Gallant presents a history of the carol, and it is hoped that this publication will be the definitive edition for choirs wishing to perform this familiar melody in a way that honours Wendat voices.
